No Due Dates or Late Fines During Closure

Dear Library Patrons,

I never in a million years would have thought that I would have to make the decision to close the library because of a pandemic, but this is a “brave new world.” We realize your lives have been turned upside down and you do not have ELPL to retreat to, so we want to reassure you that you can keep all your books, DVDs, audiobooks, everything, until the library opens back up.  We will be automatically renewing physical items that are currently checked out and we will waive any and all fines accrued during this closure.  Digital items are a different story, normal due dates will still apply, but hey, you can check them out and return them while in your PJs while binge watching Love is Blind, so that's a pretty good trade-off.

During the closure our drive-up book drop will be available for use, but only if you choose to return your materials. They will not be due while the library is closed.

If you have materials that haven't been automatically renewed, please email us at elplcirc@cityofeastlansing and we will happily extend your due date.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to keep you and the library staff safe - take care of yourselves and each other.
