The Director's Chair
The East Lansing Public Library (ELPL) is pleased to announce that Kevin King has been hired by the Board of Trustees to serve as the Library’s next director. King began his new role on March 4.
Kevin has worked as a librarian at Kalamazoo Public Library for over 26 years in a variety of roles. During his time there, King has led initiatives such as removing fines on overdue materials, providing library cards to every Kalamazoo Public Schools student, implementing a program to aid patrons with housing instability, substance use disorder or mental illness, helped establish the Amanda Green scholarship and led the first Anti-Racism Transformation Team.
