Youth Challenge

Join the American Indian Library Association, opens a new window in its first ever Read Native challenge, opens a new window. This challenge runs all year long to celebrate and recognize Indigenous authors, scientists, legislators, storytellers, and creators. When you've completed the challenge, send your filled-in log to readnative21@gmail.com for the chance to win a prize. And please feel free to "double dip" while participating in ELPL events, such as the March is Reading Month Challenge or the Summer Reading Program!

Adult Challenge

The American Indian Library Association has inaugurated the Read Native challenge, and we'd love to help you find the relevant books.

You can participate by reading each of the suggested categories in any order you choose. Then, take a picture of your completed book list and send it along with your contact information to readnative21@gmail.com for a chance to win prize packages.

We've started a list of books for adults that you can find on this page. We plan to update this throughout the year, so please let us know if you have a suggestion by emailing amoreno@cityofeastlansing.com.
