June's artist is Fritz Benson. His pieces will be on display all through June in the Brick Wall Gallery. A reception to celebrate the exhibit will take place at the library on June 12 from 6-8pm.
Fritz Benson is an American Impressionist. For over 30 years he was a partner in one of Lansing’s major lobbying firms. Retiring in 2010, Mr. Benson still serves on the Michigan McDonald’s Children’s Charities Board, and was a Governor appointee to a state regulatory commission.
Fritz has always had a strong interest in the arts, and began painting in earnest after his retirement. He has painted predominately in Michigan and Palm Springs, California. His vibrant paintings display a colorful, energetic style and a love for the outdoors during all seasons.
He and his wife, Cathy, live in East Lansing but spend time both at their cottage near Charlevoix and in Palm Springs. They have three children, Nick, Lauren and Jack.
