Once the holds start building on a bestseller, it can be a while before that title lands on the new book shelves, ready for browsers to discover. If you are after a bestseller or new movie release, and aren’t loving the waiting lists, ELPL’s Express Collection is the perfect option for you.
The Express Collection is a selection of the most popular and in-demand books and movies that are available for immediate checkout. Any book or movie featured on the Express Collection display at the library can be checked out by any lucky patron who comes across it – no holds necessary!
ELPL’s Express titles are selected based on patron demand for new book and movie releases. The collection will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis and will be displayed next to the Service Desk at ELPL.
To make sure that express items are available to as many patrons as possible, items cannot be placed on hold or held for pickup, and they cannot be renewed once they are checked out. Patrons may check out a maximum of three movies at one time, and there is currently no limit on 7 day books.

The Express Collection features a selection of popular, in-demand books and movies that are available for immediate checkout. Holds cannot be placed on Express Collection items and these items check out for a shorter period of time to increase the chance that they will available at the library.
Copies of Express Collection titles will also be available in the regular book and movie collections. Holds are allowed on those regular collection copies and they will check out for a longer time period (28 days for books and 7 days for movies).

There is no limit on the number of Express books that can be checked out at once. 3 Express movies can be checked out at a time.
