Miss Eva’s Top Three: September 2017

Welcome to Miss Eva's Top Three! Each month I'll be picking out items from three different areas of the children's section to feature that I've enjoyed -- some new titles, some older ones, but all of them things that have caught my eye! Check out this month's picks below.

Picture Book: Adopt A Glurb! by Elise Gravel

I stumbled across this picture book looking for books about pets to share in my toddler storytime group, and while it was a little too long for that group, I absolutely loved it! All about the upsides (and perils) to adopting an adorable glurb, who are cute and mischievous to the max. (Plus, grown-ups might see a lot of similarities between glurbs and children).

Graphic Novel: The Graveyard Book, Vol. 1 by P. Craig Russell

The visual art in this graphic novel pairs perfectly with Neil Gaiman's sweet-creepy novel, infusing just the right amount of eeriness and affection to the story of Nobody Owens, an orphan raised in a graveyard.

Music CD: Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Beyonce

I love children's music, but there's something so awesome (and, let's admit it, refreshing) when your favorite grown-up artists get the lullaby treatment. If you've hit your Raffi limit, this is perfect.
