CWC + ELPL Writing Contest Returns!

Writers of all ages are invited to submit works of short fiction or creative nonfiction to the 3rd annual Writing Contest from the Community Writing Center @ ELPL! This year, we are adding a new category: Creative Nonfiction.

Entries will be considered in separate categories for youth, teens, and adults by a panel of judges made up of an anonymous
group of MSU Writing Center administrators, consultants, and ELPL staff. Winning entries will receive cash prizes and be displayed in the library and on its webpage.

How to submit:
Submit your work to the Google Form at bit.ly/cwc-writing-contest by April 5, 2024. Submissions after that date will not be
considered. Authors will be notified of the results of the contest by early May.

Submissions must meet the following requirements:

  • Submissions must be 2000 words or less
  • No more than one submission per author
  • No submissions that have been previously published in print or online
  • Submissions must be in a Word or PDF document, in 12-point Times New Roman font, and double-spaced.
  • Please do not include your name or identifying information in the document itself, as the review process is anonymous.

We look forward to reading your story!
