National Library Workers Day – Staff Spotlight!

April 25 is National Library Workers Day, and one of our greatest resources is our amazing staff! Get to know some of our staff here.

Angelo Moreno:

What’s your favorite hobby?

I love riding my bike on the river trail.

What’s a fun fact about you?

I lived in Mexico for two years and miss it every day.

What’s your favorite thing about working at ELPL?

My number one most favorite thing about working at ELPL is getting the chance, every day that I work, to connect our patrons to our wonderful collection. The Public Library is a unique and beautiful place. A lot of my colleagues in the library world like to talk about how we are "more than just books." But I think books are pretty amazing, and I want everyone to know how amazing they are, what we have, and what we can get for you if we don't have it here in the collection right now. I want to talk to you about books and hear what you're reading!  These books here at the library are your books, just waiting for you borrow and enjoy.

Gabby Kindig:

What’s your favorite thing about working at ELPL?

My amazing coworkers! I work with some of the coolest, kindest, most interesting people I've ever met and it's a delight to be their colleague and friend. Also, I love being around books all day, and being able to enjoy and share all the incredible resources the library has to offer.

Phyllis Thode:

What’s your favorite thing about working at ELPL?

One of my favorite parts of working at the library is connecting with the community and the people.

Scott Drapalik:

Working with technology to improve access to knowledge!

What's your favorite niche hobby?

Playing Japanese (Riichi) Mahjong and being DM/GM for D&D campaigns with my friends.
