Children’s Books Around the World

personified, cartoon book with Earth floating above one of its handsCentral Michigan University's (CMU) Clarke Historical Library is showcasing their books written in or translated to about 50 different languages through the Children's Books Around the World Program. CMU has asked people from their community to volunteer and read books from their collection. Visit CMU's website to listen and watch, opens a new window some of these stories being read aloud.  Afraid you won't know what's being read? Fear not, some of the stories are familiar titles, like The Very Hungry Caterpillar. You can also see if illustrations help you to understand the plot, or just enjoy hearing a language you've never heard before.
