Reconsideration of Library Material Form

 
The East Lansing Public Library responds to requests for reconsideration of library materials from library users. Requestors must have read, viewed, or heard the entire work to have their challenge considered. The East Lansing Public Library Director and Reconsideration Committee reviews these requests. The Committee, consisting of the Collection Development Librarian, staff responsible for the subject/genre of the material in question, the Assistant Director, and headed by the Library Director, reviews the item in light of the patron's concern, the East Lansing Public Library Collection Development and Intellectual Freedom Policy, and professional reviews of the item. The Committee's decision will be communicated to the requestor within 40 days from receipt of request.
