One of my childhood favorites (The Baby-Sitter's Club) gets updated as a graphic novel, featuring art by Raina Telgemeier.
Non-fiction: Little Leaders: Bold Women in Black History by Vashti Harrison
A wonderfully illustrated look at black women through history, this is an inspiring read for everyone that touches on the important concept of mirrors and windows in children's literature, opens a new window.
