Baylor vs. South Carolina

Representing Baylor University is James Lee Burke's House of the Rising Sun. After a violent encounter, Texas Ranger Hackberry Holland makes it out alive, with a stolen artifact in tow. Pursued by an Austrian arms dealer who believes the artifact to be the Holy Grail, Holland soon finds out that the dealer has a plan to retrieve the artifact, and it involves his son. Set in the early 1900's, Burke's latest offers a look at historic Texas from a southern master of prose.

For South Carolina, Anne Rivers Siddons' The Girls of August explores the intense bonds of friendship on an island off the coast of South Carolina. Every year, the girls of

August meet for a week long beach holiday to reunite, catch up, and maintain their friendships, regardless of where life takes them, until an unexpected death causes them to break their bonds. Years later, when a new member marries in to the crew, she decides to renew the girls of August tradition.
