The International Book Club is back!
On September 20th at 7pm we will be discussing Behind the Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo. Guest : Dr. Veena Mandrekar Dr. Mandrekar is an East Lansing resident and native of India. She has first-hand experience with people whose lives have mirrored those in the book. She will share her ideas about globalization and positive action. This is the One Book, One Community selection for 2012. Look for more information and events here.
October is Fair Trade Month so on October 18th at 7pm we will discuss Global Girlfriends: how one mom made it her business to help women in poverty worldwide by Stacey Edgar. Our guest will be Gail Catron of Kirabo, a fair trade store in East Lansing

On November 8 (Note new date!!) at 7pm we will be discussing Come on shore and we will kill and eat you all: a New Zealand story by Christina Thompson. Guest TBA.
