East Lansing patrons now have two collections to browse when looking for ebooks.

ELPL Cloud Library

What is it?

ELPL's Cloud Library is East Lansing's newest collection of free library ebooks, hosted by 3M.  

Devices:  Cloud Library titles can be checked out on iOS and Android devices, and Nook and Kindle Fire eReaders via a PC. 

How does it work?

  • Patrons can check out 10 titles at a time.
  • eBooks check out for 21 days.
  • 10 holds at a time.
  • Patrons can save their eBook reading history.
  • Checked out titles are accessible across all a patron's eligible devices.
  • Patrons are able to place requests for wish list titles right from their eReader and be notified if and when the title is purchased (turn this on under Search by clicking Advanced Search).
  • All the titles in this collection are only available to ELPL patrons.

 

Woodlands Overdrive Library

What is it?


The Woodlands Downloadable Library from Overdrive is the eBook and eAudiobook service that ELPL patrons have been using for just over 2 years.

Devices:
Woodlands eBooks and eAudiobooks work on many different devices.

How does it work?

  • Patrons can check out 8 titles at a time.
  • Titles check out for 7 or 14 days.
  • 5 holds at a time.
  • This collection is shared amongst libraries in the Woodlands Cooperative but ELPL purchases additional copies and titles just for ELPL patrons.
